You’re probably wondering who the handsome devil in all those photos is, right?
No?
Well, a guy can dream.
My name is Kieran, and I am a recovering Hustle addict.
Throughout the whole of my twenties, I chased more. I wanted to build a business, then a bigger business, and make more money.
It made me miserable. I almost lost my wife, my health, and my sanity.
Something had to give. I knew that I didn’t want my life to feel like chaos all the time. I longed for something simpler.
And that’s when the choice came.
I was toying with the idea of moving away from the stress of being self-employed when I received two job offers:
1. a job at a marketing agency helping 20 clients grow their businesses. Late nights, endless emails, regular flights to London, and a decent paycheck.
2. – a job working in a visitor center at a nature reserve where I can work outdoors with minimal stress and pressure. With a 30% pay cut.
Choosing option one felt like the responsible thing to do. Get a bigger paycheck, throw myself into a career, and start climbing the corporate ladder. But when I imagined accepting that job, I felt nothing but heaviness.
And when I imagined getting to work outside, being in nature, around nice people, and having enough energy to work on my own projects, a glimmer of hope appeared.
I chose a simpler life.
And so I live a frugal life with a simpler job in the Scottish Highlands. I continue to work on my writing projects and feel like I’m closer than ever to living a life with intention that can make me happy.
This blog is where I want to inspire other people to live a simpler life. I’m sharing funny stories about simple living, reading, frugality, and how to live a life with intention.
If you’re sick of the busyness of life and dream of something simpler, come join us.
There’s a new post every Monday at 7 pm.
Much love from the Scottish Highlands,
Kieran
